You may not be aware - Masters for 'The Unfair Advantage Letter Book Volume II' (or photo copies) supplied by Bill Myers to the Small Business Help Shop along with a disk claiming to contain (& I QUOTE) .."All Text from the Unfair Advantage Letter Books I & II."

The disk contained exactly that ...
NOTHING but plain asci text.

NO ...... page layout or formatting - headlines - sub headings - graphics - captions.
NO ...... bold - italic - underlined - highlighted text or boarders.
ALL .... masters [copies] had been photocopied many, many times, resulting in loss of quality.
They were for American size paper, which had then been photocopied again to suit A4.

Plus: when I first received the package. I found 100 odd pages of text, missing, which rendered the book useless, for anyone wishing to publish it.

Enquires were then made about getting original laser copies, or even the entire publication on disk, but  I was advised, there were NON.

That not even Bill Myers has originals - only photo copies.

So .... that set my wheels in motion.

What I did was .... 
COMPLETELY REPRODUCE THE ENTIRE BOOK.

From the copies I had [who knows what generation they were]

I re-constructed the entire 200 + pages of the ..
Unfair Advantage Letter Book V II
to suite the Australian A4 format.

I re-formatted every page, re-typed every word, headline, sentence & paragraph. Spell checked & corrected mistakes. I was lucky to match [except for a few scanned photos] all the clip-art, by obtaining the "Presentation Task Force" CD mentioned in the book.

Then ... after more than 280 HOURS

I came up with a reference library of tested - ready-to-use sales letters, press releases, ads and other vital forms of the printed word.

'YES' Two Hundred & Eighty Hours - and, that's not counting the time it took to Print the New Masters, Photocopy & Collate 200 + pages, Punch Holes & Insert the pages into Folders.

280 Hrs @ $20 Per Hr, then means it cost me approx $5,600 to reproduce The Unfair Advantage Letter Book Vol. II.

Or, $26.80 per page. PLUS the cost of printing new masters, copying pages, folders, etc., and the original package price of $1,000 on top of that.

So you can see that re-producing this new book wasn't cheap.

Then, I was asked for an electronic [e-book] version of the book, so they could save time & the added delivery costs sending it [via snail mail] normal post.

Well that's when the problems started all over again.

I had re-created the new book using Microsoft Publisher & when I re-saved & transferred the files to Adobe, page formatting changed. Because of complex layouts [such as the 3 page folded - double sided brochures] and the fact that every thing had to be reproduced to give the effect that it was [a reduced page] sitting on another background page - everything shifted.

It took me a further 2 weeks to come up with the final results that you will see, when you view the sample or purchase the PDF Ebook, including author's notes on how to get the most out of each project, plus some actual tips on page layouts & design.
